A dialogue is defined as a conversation between two or more people, in an exchange of views in the hope of ultimately reaching agreement. The piece comprises two distinct musical ideas, performed by a single player.

Instrumentation:
Bb Trumpet
Additional Notes:
The way of separating the two "identities" of the trumpet was done through the use of muting one of the voices. The secret to successfully performing this piece is that mute changes need to be really, really quick!
The fundamental written C at the opening can be substituted for the C above if necessary.
